A Year Has Passed: Gearing up to create more Zen Cognition posts...

Has it been over a year?  With the approach of the winter solstice and the holiday season, I will have time enough to add posts to these documents.  Stay tuned for more lunacy from me in and around Louisiana. Well, maybe lunacy is a but too strong to describe what goes on in my life.  I saw on tv a few days ago where Congress has voted to remove the term "lunatic" or "lunacy" from Federal documents and all but one Representative, the Congressman from MS if I am not mistaken, voted to remove the word for the documents.  Just one man thought that would be a bad idea.  So here I am now using the word in my blog to describe my thoughts about many topics including politics.

Yes the whole country seems to have gone loony since the Standard and Poors  credit rating was lowered.  Now of course that might happen again if we cannot reach some compromises about taxes versus spending. I am a middle seeker.  I like to think of myself as being at the fulcrum of the population but I am also the pivot point, not buying into either side so much.  It can be stressful for me to be always at the pivot point, neither for nor against and the one side is always accusing me of being a sympathizer for the other side.  Neither side accepts me into their camps very readily and I always feel like I am a sort of Trojan Horse because I see both sides of most arguments.  I think this is a plus for me, but prejudices and old beliefs and traditions die hard in the South sometimes.  It depends on the crowd, the season and the amount of alcohol involved in the discussion also, I guess.  And one quickly learns to keep one's mouth shut and never forget how to find the door in a hurry during such discussions.

I guess my thoughts are not so looney on a grand scale.  I mean look at CO and WA which just legalized marijuana.  What lunacy is that?  I have been reading lot of new articles which have linked the legalization of pot directly to felonies above and beyond possession.  We are taking about people who have put the pot into brownies and served them to unsuspecting teachers and fellow students to shooting alleged intruders into a home as they allegedly attempted to steal the homeowners plants!  That to me is really crazy stuff.

The world goes on however and I am more or less a passive observer.  Staying put long enough and using modern computing technology:  from my vantage point it seems the whole world will pass by. I sit here waiting and watching and not trying too hard to make sense of it all.
